What happens if I get a busy signal when pressing
the remote alert button?
-
The alert call will repeat the
specified number up to 8 times if the receiving line is in use. The
Lifeguard system can also be programmed with primary and secondary
alert call numbers. Therefore, if the primary responder does not
answer in a reasonable time-period, the alert will be directed to
the secondary responder.

Response System operates on a monthly rental basis.

What is a PERS?
PERS is the abbreviation for
Personal Emergency Response System, designed for use within the
home. When activated, it notifies the monitor that assistance is
required. PERS applications reach many walks of life:
-
Senior citizens
-
People who live alone
-
Young couples with children
-
People living in high crime
areas
-
Mentally or physically
challenged individuals
What are the languages spoken by Lifeguard
associates?
Can the alert button be worn in the bath or shower?
Does the monitoring center always call for emergency
personnel?
-
That depends on your
instructions. If an alert is received, the monitoring
center will assess your situation in order to dispatch the
appropriate help. For example, if you have fallen but you
are not hurt and just need help getting up, you can tell us this and
we will call a neighbor or family member to come and help you.
In an emergency, do I have to call the monitoring
center first or can I call a family member?
-
The Lifeguard’s system can be
programmed with primary and secondary alert call responders. For
example, alert calls can be primarily routed to a nearby family
member acting as first responder, then to our monitoring center in a
secondary capacity if the first responder does not answer promptly.
In most cases though, the Lifeguard monitoring center is the primary
responder.
What if I can’t speak when the alert button is
pressed?
-
When an alert is sent to the
monitoring center, you are automatically identified to the
individual answering the phone. They can access your complete
profile of information even if you can’t tell them anything at the
time of an emergency.
-
If a Lifeguard associate is
unable to make verbal contact with you, they will dispatch emergency
personnel immediately. You do not have to directly speak with the
monitoring center in order to receive the help you need.
How easy is it to set medication reminders?
-
The medication reminders are
set up by the monitoring center at the time you subscribe with
Lifeguard. Your reminders operate on a daily cycle and you can turn
them on or off at anytime.
-
Should you wish to add or
remove a medication reminder, you may contact the monitoring center
for assistance.
If I move can I take my Lifeguard system with me?
-
With notification to us, the
Lifeguard system is fully transportable. Even if you move to a
different city, we will work with you to update the system to your
new number, closest emergency response personnel, and keep your
information consistent with your current situation.
